Two years after Netflix and Michael B. Jordan agreed to produce a 10 part superhero series based on a single mother hiding her young son’s superpowers to protect him from exploitation while investigating their origins and her husband’s death, Raising Dion was released on Netflix.
As Netflix continues to build equity in its original content series it was important to promote Raising Dion’s launch, and gain interest both from existing customers, but new customers as well.
To help with the marketing of the show Netflix looked to partner with Battery Annex located in Hollywood, CA. Netflix and Battery know one another well, as they partnered together to create the campaign “Netflix Is a joke”, as well as numerous other campaigns to promote specials for Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, and many others.
To help promote Raising Dion, Battery concepted an idea that infused some of the most popular Netflix series: Queer Eye, Lost In Space, and Bird Box, with Raising Dion’s young star Ja’Siah Young. By placing Ja’Siah in some of the most famous moments from these Netflix dramas, we looked to highlight some of his super powers from the show by showing how they could alter the world around him in a fun and playful way.
